Passive and Active Antenna Pattern Measurements

With Verkotan’s antenna pattern measurement service you can get more information out of your antenna’s wireless performance. We are able to measure frequencies from 400MHz to 6GHz and antennas up to 60cm in length.

Passive antenna pattern measurement provides information regarding:
  • Antenna pattern
  • Antenna gain
  • Antenna efficiency
  • Antenna Correlation
Active antenna pattern measurement provides information regarding:
  • Device sensitivity (TIS)
  • Device's radiated power (TRP)

We perform all antenna pattern measurements in CTIA approved fully anechoic chambers to ensure that only signals to and from the device are measured. To measure each point, the positioning system moves the DUT (Device Under Test) relative to the measurement antenna.

Antenna Port Input Power (APIP) numbers are used to calculate gain and efficiency for Active measurements. The values should be in terms of RMS to match the antenna measurements. Please let us know if the radiated power will be greater than 1 Watt.

Typical scan will be 15 degrees, 3D patterns. Please indicate if you would like finer resolution than 15 degrees. Assumptions: module/product will be set to constant transmit CW or maximum duty cycle. The DUT will be battery operated or AC Powered via 230VAC/50Hz and less than 15Amps (if applicable). DUT communicates with Verkotan’s cellular communication call boxes.

Provide connection to the antenna with SMA or N adapter. For antennas with other connectors please adapt to SMA. Also, if the equipment under test has multiple antenna ports provide loads for these ports.
