Electromagnetic Field Measurements

Verkotan provides Electromagnetic Field Measurements (EMF) for RF exposure evaluations.

When in use, electrical equipment emits electromagnetic fields. There are different regional limits set by regulatory bodies for exposure to EMF. EMF testing is used to assess the levels of exposure and compare them to reference levels. Compliance with EMF requirements is obligatory in most markets including Europe, the US and Canada.

EMF Measurement Test Capabilities

Verkotan provides Electromagnetic Field Measurements (EMF) for RF exposure evaluations. We measure with EMR-300 E-field from 100 kHz to 3 GHz and H-field from 27 MHz to 1 GHz and with Narda EHP-200 E/H-field probe from 3 kHz to 30 MHz.

We measure according to following requirements / standards

  • EU: Reference level measurements for electric and magnetic fields (according to EN 62311 and council recommendation 1999/519/EC)
  • USA: RF exposure measurements for low frequencies according to KDB 680106 D01 (RF exposure considerations for low power consumer wireless power transfer applications)
  • Canada: SPR-002 — Supplementary Procedure for Assessing Compliance with RSS-102 Nerve Stimulation Exposure Limits
Electromagnetic Field Measurements at Verkotan

Public concern about the possibility of health risks resulting from exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted from various wireless devices and their infrastructure continues to be an issue all over the world. It is essential that public is not exposed to dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation, and thus EMF measurements are performed to ensure a device’s compliance to international guidance.

Verkotan provides EMF measurements for radio frequency exposure evaluation. E-field is measured in frequency range of 3 kHz–3 GHz and 3 kHz–1 GHz for H-field.
