Thanks to the recent growth, new members have joined our Verkotan team. This time we interviewed our Wireless Test System Engineer – Veli-Matti Niemitalo. Veli-Matti has been a part of the Verkotan team since the summer of 2018. The people and the building are already familiar to him since he had already been working in the same building between 2012 and 2014. Veli-Matti has studied information technology and as a wireless testing engineer his usual day consists of measurement and software development regarding measurement systems.
1. What are the values that drive you?
I aim to do things to the best of my abilities and I believe that the same applies to everyone in the Verkotan team. Of course, helping others is also important.
2. What behaviour or personality trait do you attribute your success to and why?
I guess one could say that I am stubborn, I am determined and I do not change my opinion easily. On the other hand I am also quite considerate.
3. What are your impressions of working at Verkotan so far?
I have really liked working at Verkotan. We have a great, small organisation and I really like that there are direct links to everyone, it makes the information flow easier. The best thing about working at Verkotan is the colleagues, for me that is a big part of job satisfaction.
4. How did you adapt to the team when you first joined the company?
Many of the people working at Verkotan were already familiar to me, so when I started a bit more than a year ago, the adaptation to the team was very smooth and everyone welcomed me well. My tasks were a bit different back then, but still related to software.
5. What is the atmosphere like while working?
The atmosphere here is great, many of us have a twisted sense of humour so working days are often a lot of fun.
6. Are you satisfied with your current position? Do you feel the job is challenging enough for example in terms of knowledge and experience?
I am satisfied, I like what I do and enjoy coming to work.
