Smartphone RF Rework
Verkotan’s rework service includes:
· Disassembly of the smartphone and identification of the relevant RF antenna connections.
· Installation of RF coaxial cables connected to selected antenna paths.
· External SMA connectors for direct connection to RF test equipment.
· Reassembly of the reworked smartphone using a custom-designed mechanical chassis.
· Identification and documentation of the reworked RF ports and their supported frequency bands.
RF rework can be tailored to support selected 4G LTE, 5G NR FR1, WLAN, and Bluetooth frequency bands, depending on the smartphone’s hardware architecture and software capabilities.
Following rework, Verkotan can verify the operation of the external RF connections through conducted measurements.
Verification capabilities include for example:
· RF Output Power: Measurement of transmitted RF power from individual antenna ports.
· Receiver Sensitivity: Evaluation of receiver performance under controlled RF signal attenuation.
· Throughput Performance: Measurement of data throughput at different received signal levels.
· MIMO Performance: Verification of multiple antenna paths operating simultaneously and individually.
· Antenna Port Mapping: Identification and documentation of RF connector assignments and supported frequency bands.
For cellular devices, 5G NR FR1 functionality can be verified using supported SA or NSA configurations and compatible network test equipment. LTE anchor connectivity can also be included where required.
The service includes a reworked smartphone with external RF connectors and a verification test report documenting the applicable measurements, antenna port assignments, and test results.
