SAR testing with a new small box shaped base-station antenna phantom
Specific absorption rate (SAR) is a measure of the rate of radiofrequency energy absorption by the body from the source being measured. SAR measurements are recommended to comply primarily for the safety of humans and animals. When users are in the reactive near-field of the antenna it is essential to determine the safest distance between the device and the user. The key consideration here is in obtaining the most accurate results.
Small box-shaped phantom
A new small box-shaped phantom 0.96 × 0.233 ×0.15 we are now working with, allows easy local SAR testing of long whip antennas, large IoT devices and indoor base station antennas.
The small box-shaped phantom is also the preferred alternative for the whole-body SAR testing when there is a possibility of exposure to anyone including children. Typically, such types of box-shaped phantoms are used for the indoor base stations antennas, which can be arbitrarily arranged in the houses, offices and other places.
